She has loved and given to so many, but the favor is not returned.
Broken promises, causing arthritic creaking branches. All the use and abuse of past lovers just taking and using her up....drying out her wizened skin, wrinkled, hardened bark.
For every love lost, he has moved on....leaving her shattered and even more bitter than the first; only to be swept up in another "warrior" that promises to love and cherish her. Yet he's only playing the same game, with a different spin (speaking the same sh*t in another tongue). Every let down, bowing her spine ever closer to the ground. Horrid posture. Hair long, ragged, unkempt, dragging to the ground.
But as long as the sun does shine, there is still hope. There is someone for everyone out there. So with all the patience she can muster, she bides her time, and lies in wait.
Still hurting.
Still weeping.
