Romantic Adventurist...
I have always been attracted to American Indian philosophies and living. I was accepted into the American Indian Studies program, at the University of Arizona, but chose another college, where I majored in Religious and Cultural Studies. My course of studies included American Indian Studies, and the study of other traditional culturals, worldwide...their world views/cosmologies, medicinal and religious practices, and respective relationships to their environments. I have attended a number of Medicine Wheel Gatherings, and was given honored roles in one of the Medicine Wheel Ceremonies and sweats. I have been a student of Barrie Kavasch, an author and herbologist of American Indian descent, and learned how to make a traditional hand drum, under her instruction and guidance. I have been a member of the Institute for American Indian Studies, in Washington Depot, CT, and took part in an archeological dig on the site of ancient Weontinock Indians. As an Elementary Teacher and Environmental Educator, I have taught children (and adults) about American Indian ways and living.
